Exosomes

Exosomes

One of the most effective, non-surgical treatments for treating acne scars and rejuvenating skin is called microneedling. As our skin ages, it loses collagen and accumulates environmental damage. Microneedling can help reverse aging and restore your skin to a healthy, youthful glow. Did you know you can get Exosomes and Microneedling at Body Aesthetics?
A popular addition to microneedling over the last few years is what is called exosome therapy, which is a gel or serum that is applied to the treatment area. Both of these treatments together will help reduce healing time and rejuvenate your skin faster than just microneedling alone.

What are exosomes?
Exosomes are nanoparticles released by nearly all of the cells in the human body. Skin cells have their own exosomes that contain various lipids, proteins, amino acids, peptides, growth factors, and genetic material.
These nanoparticles act like messengers that send signals to unhealthy cells, triggering them to regenerate, thus prompting the body’s natural healing process. Topical exosomes can be applied after treatments, such as microneedling.
The reason exosomes cannot simply be applied to skin and instead need to be applied after a disruptive treatment is because they cannot penetrate skin on their own.

What are the benefits of exosome therapy?
Aging and increased sun exposure causes damage to our skin cells. Aging also causes our bodies to produce fewer exosomes (along with collagen), which leads to sagging, wrinkles, fine lines, discoloration, or loose skin.
Exosome therapy will help to wake up older exosomes and inactive skin cells so they can work to repair, strengthen, and rejuvenate your skin. This treatment will also help to increase collagen production, decrease pigment production, and improve wound healing.
Patients will see a noticeable improvement in their skin in two to six weeks after treatment.

What is Microneedling?
One of the therapies that exosomes improve is called microneedling. Microneedling is a minimally invasive procedure using a Rejuvapen® (an FDA-approved microneedling tool) that uses thin needles. The needles cause “micro-injuries” to the skin that trigger the body’s natural healing process. After the procedure, your body will go to work producing collagen and repairing the injuries sustained during the procedure. But don’t worry, microneedling is painless and requires no downtime. You may feel a warm sensation in the treatment area and some mild swelling or bruising.

Exosomes and Microneedling: The perfect combination skin therapy
Exosome therapy can speed up recovery time and the effectiveness of cosmetic procedures such as microneedling. Microneedling causes the tiny “injuries” to the skin that allow the topical exosomes to enter the skin and go to work signaling cells to rejuvenate and repair. The symbiotic relationship between these two treatments are what make them the perfect combination skin treatment in Daytona Beach!
The cost of microneedling at body aesthetics ranges from $200 to $600 per session. Your cost will depend on the number of sessions you need, the treatment area, and whether you opt for microneedling exosomes for  superior results.
